Happy Birthday Super Sam! Here are fourteen things to document the beginning of your 14th year:

1. your favorite color is blue.

2. for most of your life you wanted to be a vet but now you aren't sure what you want to be when you "grow up".

3. favorite food is lasagne but pizza is a close second

4. you do not have a sweet tooth. Halloween and Valentine's candy usually ends up eaten by your brother or sisters (or me) or thrown in the garbage because it is old.

5. your friends are very important to you!!

6. You are self motivated and conscientious with your school work. I have never had to tell you to do your work; you always have your work done when I ask you about it. You have been a straight A student.

7. You are NOT self motivated when it comes to cleaning your room and bathroom.

8. Basketball is your favorite sport and right now you plan to play at the college level.

9. you are always the last one to get in the car when leaving for school in the morning.

10. You are 5' 8 1/2" tall

11. you can be pretty stubborn. Sometimes we like to call you Gina Jr.

12. You have a quiet personality.

13. You are a hero to your sisters. They love it when you chase them and AhAhAnnie always wants a hug from you.

14. You have a tremendous amount of patience and rarely get mad

love you!! :) xxoo mom

  1. This is a really delightful post. It makes me smile and tear up all at the same time. Big brothers are pretty awesome {most of the time} and I think you're an awesome Mom to ALL your kiddos. Happy Birthday Sam, you sound like a young man with a bright future!

  2. Happy, Happy Birthday Sam from the "other" family of eight!!!

  3. Love this post! A big happy birthday to Sam!!

  4. What a lovely way to appreciate these qualities in your son.

  5. happy 14th birthday !
I have a 14 yr old son, too, although he will be turning 15 pretty soon...

  6. Happy birthday to your son! Very nice post, Gina! :)

  7. I too have a 14 year old and had to smile at how many of the things were similar. Just today he had me measure him and he stands at 5' 8 1/2" tall, which to his delight is just a half inch shy of surpassing me. Happy birthday to your son!
